The Pine River-Backus boys’ cross country team lineup has three letterwinners this season, including Jacob Schnoor, who finished 52nd overall last year at the Section 7A meet.
Other letterwinners are Andrew Bueckers and Robert Bueckers. Others who could contribute include: Jordan Tisdell, Ethan Burns and Isaiah Aulie.
“We are excited about our veteran runners and the addition of so many Junior High runners,” said Tim Ramler, who is starting his third season as head coach. “We have a young team, but we’re excited with how the program is growing.”
The PR-B girls have one letterwinner returning - senior Mara Adams. Others who could contribute, according to head coach Jordan Ackerman, are freshman Kelsey Bergem and Ava Deplazes; eighth-graders Jovi Borland and Kalie Trout; and seventh-grader Evelynn Peterson.
“We have a nice group of young runners, who will be gaining varsity experience as the season gets into full swing, to go along with our senior runner, Mara Adams,” Ackerman said. “The team is a hard working, positive, and encouraging group that enjoys being around each other, and are looking to improve their times drastically as the season progresses.”
