Volunteers braved the early morning cold Saturday, Dec. 4, to hang wreaths at veterans' graves in the Our Savior's Lutheran Church Cemetery and Pequot Lakes City Cemetery.
This group and others hung 420 wreaths on graves in these two cemeteries as well as Stony Brook Cemetery, Jenkins City Cemetery, Jenkins Township Cemetery, Norwood Cemetery, Maple Hill Cemetery and Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Volunteers also placed stakes for the wreaths in the ground earlier when the ground was still soft. This is the seventh year of the Christmas for Vets program.
Pequot Lakes High School National Honor Society students offered their assistance Dec. 4, and helped place stakes.
