Tulenchik, Dahl named Pine River-Backus homecoming royalty

Pine River-Backus seniors Claire Dahl and Connor Tulenchik were crowned homecoming king and queen at the homecoming coronation Friday, Oct. 8.

Chloe Andrus was named princess with Brady Bristow as prince.

Other homecoming candidates were Caleb Ruhl, Cody Deplazes, Jake Milk, Lauren Penkhus, Tiara Crannell and Haley Smude.

The crowning followed a week of annual homecoming events, including the coronation skit and musical performances. Mara Adams sang a song from "The Greatest Showman" while Cash Kangas and Andrea James performed a duet of "Shallow" from "A Star is Born." Ashlee Crawford performed "Oceans."

Travis Grimler began work at the Echo Journal Jan. 2 of 2013 while the publication was still split in two as the Pine River Journal and Lake Country Echo. He is a full time reporter/photographer/videographer for the paper and operates primarily out of the northern stretch of the coverage area (Hackensack to Jenkins).
