Young children learned all about safety during the annual Safety Town event Aug. 10-13 at Lutheran Church of the Cross in Nisswa, sponsored by Nisswa Parks and Recreation.
On Wednesday, Aug. 12, children learned how to be safe while in a boat and on the lakes. After in-classroom time learning how to use life preservers and other helpful tips, the children gathered around the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Department boat to discuss where to sit, what to avoid and what could happen if they were to fall in.
