St. Patrick's Shenanigans on tap March 12-13 in Crosslake

There won't be a parade, but the celebration includes decorated businesses and residences and the Lucky Leprechaun Amazing Race with a goal to support local businesses and have fun

Crosslake is famous for its St. Patrick's Day celebrations, and while this year it may look a little different with no parade, activities are planned Friday and Saturday, March 12-13.

A weekend of shenanigans throughout the community is planned to help strengthen businesses with an economic boost and celebrate this Irish holiday Crosslake style.

A business and residential decorating contest is underway. With no parade floats to decorate this year, the idea is to paint the town green. Judging will take place Friday afternoon and evening with business and residential trophies to be awarded.

There is no charge to participate.

Lucky Leprechaun Amazing Race

The Lucky Leprechaun Amazing Race-Crosslake Style will take place Friday and Saturday.

Travel around the Crosslake area to locate businesses and landmarks, complete missions and earn points. Using a mobile device, participants will track their progress and others on the leaderboard. Participants can go it alone or team up with family and friends.

It's completely free to participate, and participants will have two full days to play to win prizes. Here's how to play:

  • Download the EventZee App to a mobile device. The password will be available when gameplay begins at 7 a.m. Friday, March 12.
  • From 7 a.m. Friday, March 12, through 11 p.m. Saturday, March 13, travel around to participating businesses hosting missions and follow the prompts on your mobile device to complete each mission.
  • Missions will include trivia questions and photo or video opportunity at each participating business location.
  • Points are awarded for correctly answering trivia questions and for taking awesome photos and videos. Costumed players may earn bonus points.
  • Each mission offers a prize, selected randomly from all players completing that mission. Complete as many missions as you can. The more missions you complete, the better your chances are to win a prize.
  • Prize winners will be notified on or before noon Sunday, March 14, via the email provided when signing up for the app. Prize winners will be responsible for picking up their prize(s) at the Crosslake Chamber of Commerce.
  • Several missions offer badges (found under your profile) that can be redeemed at participating businesses for deals, coupons and discounts.
  • Follow the Crosslake Ideal Lions leaderboard to see your cumulative score. The overall top points earner will go home with a trophy and a sweet ride in the 2022 Crosslake St. Patrick's Day Parade.
