Editor's Note: This story was updated to reflect that the Miss Pine River Scholarship Pageant was postponed from the original date of Saturday, May 1, to Saturday, June 5, because of COVID-19 related quarantines at the school.
Six Pine River-Backus High School juniors will vie for the title of Miss Pine River at the 42nd annual scholarship pageant at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 5, in the high school gym (unless COVID-19 restrictions force a venue change).
Candidates are Chloe Beavers, Mara Adams, Chloe Andrus, Tiara Crannell, Emma Pflugshaupt and Abby Schaefer. They will be judged on interview, business casual wear, talent and evening gown.
Miss Pine River will receive a $1,000 scholarship to a school of higher learning upon completion of one full semester. First and second princesses and Miss Congeniality will also receive monetary prizes.
Miss Pine River and the court will represent the Pine River Chamber of Commerce at many area festivals, parades and pageants.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with a $5 admission fee. The theme is "Look at us Now."
