The Nisswa American Legion Auxiliary hosted a drive-thru Santa event Sunday, Dec. 6, where Santa and Mrs. Claus visited children in each car driving up to the Nisswa American Legion. Some children gave Santa their wish list.
Each child present received a stocking while available. When the stockings ran out, goodies were given out in grocery bags, which also ran out, leaving Santa with candy canes, oranges and apples to distribute. Hungry kids also received a hot dog.
Organizers said there seemed to be a never-ending line of cars with the first carload coming from Milaca. Organizers estimated nearly 200 cars drove through the event.
