The Parade of Lights was neither the beginning nor the end of festivities. Starting at noon at the Pine River American Legion, families lined up so children could sit on Santa's knee for a photo, followed by a cookie and gifts. Free lunch and horse-drawn wagon rides helped entertain everyone as they waited their turn.

After the parade free cookies and hot drinks were passed out at the Pine River Chamber of Commerce Information Center and consumed outside around a roaring bonfire as those gathered waited for a dazzling fireworks show at 6:30 p.m.
