Pine River Market Square started a new season in a much more visible locale Friday, May 29, along the Paul Bunyan Trail near the Pine River Depot.

There were sellers present with plants, wild rice, homemade soaps, syrups and jellies, among other items. The market runs from 2:30-5:30 p.m. Fridays.

The new location was chosen, initially, due to anticipated construction on the Pine River Dam bridge. That construction has been delayed.

Travis Grimler began work at the Echo Journal Jan. 2 of 2013 while the publication was still split in two as the Pine River Journal and Lake Country Echo. He is a full time reporter/photographer/videographer for the paper and operates primarily out of the northern stretch of the coverage area (Hackensack to Jenkins).
