Saturday, Oct. 27, the library will participate with local businesses for the Halloween trick-or-treating event throughout the city from 10 a.m. until noon. Kids should wear their costumes, visit businesses with the candy corn symbol on their doors and then go to the bonfire at Trailside Park to have apple juice and make s'mores.

What a good way to bring in the holiday!

Medicare open enrollment meetings

If you need help with Medicare open enrollment, two meetings are scheduled at the library. The first will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, and the second from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14.

You must register for these informational meetings by calling 800-333-2433.

Notes about this and that

• Don't forget Preschool Story Time every Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the library.

• Come in and visit our Cozy Corner Book Shop. We have adult and kids' used books for sale, and games and puzzles, for very reasonable prices, plus a table of free books. Perhaps you'll find some early holiday gifts.

• Our present display features information about what's happening with our fire tower. What an interesting part of the city's history. Thanks, Kevin Olson, for setting this up. We will also have our annual Veterans Day display.

Thank you

Thank you to all of our lovely volunteers who make this library a great place to spend some time!

Special thanks to patrons Anne Kostreba, who donated the Walt Longmire books that were missing from our collection; and to Barb Moe, who buys newly released books, reads them and then donates them to the library. We appreciate your generosity.
