Pequot Lakes High School senior Samantha Jackson to rein as Miss Nisswa 2021

Samantha Jackson, a senior at Pequot Lakes High School, was crowned Miss Nisswa 2021 on Saturday, April 10, in the Nisswa Elementary School gym.
Carsyn Krassas, a senior at Brainerd High School, won the Miss Nisswa First Princess title. The candidates voted Sonja Palmer, a Pequot Lakes High School junior, as Miss Congeniality.
Other candidates were Nicole Nix, a Brainerd High School junior; Brittany Joyce, Pequot Lakes junior; and Mary Moore, Brainerd senior.
Little Miss Nisswa winners for 2021 are Olivia Waagmeester, Charlotte Halvorson and Lucy Smith, all Nisswa Elementary School second-graders. Other Little Miss candidates were Brynn Uhrich, Josephine Snook and Isla Conkins.

Nancy Vogt is editor of the Pineandlakes Echo Journal, a weekly newspaper that covers eight communities in the Pequot Lakes-Pine River areas - from Nisswa to Hackensack and Pequot Lakes to Crosslake.
She started as editor of the Lake Country Echo in July 2006, and continued in that role when the Lake Country Echo and the Pine River Journal combined in September 2013 to become the Pineandlakes Echo Journal. She worked for the Brainerd Dispatch from 1992-2006 in various roles.
She covers Nisswa, Pequot Lakes, Lake Shore and Crosslake city councils, as well as writes feature stories, news stories and personal columns (Vogt's Notes). She also takes photos at community events.
