Pequot Lakes firefighters to host open house Oct. 9

The Pequot Lakes Fire Department will promote National Fire Prevention Week by visiting Eagle View Elementary School on Tuesday, Oct. 8, to speak with kindergarten through second grade students regarding fire prevention and safety.

Firefighters will host their annual Fire Prevention Open House from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, at the Pequot Lakes Fire Hall (4638 County Road 11).

Hot dogs, chips, juice, cookies and popcorn will be served. View the trucks, equipment and meet local firefighters. There will be demonstrations, fire prevention materials for all ages and Pequot Lakes Fire Department trading cards.

Kids can attempt to put out a "fire" in the Pequot Lakes Fire House, jump in the "Spot the Fire Dog" bouncy house or enjoy a fire truck ride.
