Just 12 hours after streets were filled with families for the Freedom Days Parade, downtown Nisswa again was packed with people Sunday morning, July 4, for the annual Firecracker Run.
The 5K and 10K runs are held every year on July 4, starting on Main Street. The finish line is at the Nisswa Community Center, and features a crawfish boil; Slip'N Slide; and red, white and blue bubble machine.
More than 1,000 runners participated in this year's event. The Firecracker Run did take place in 2020, though with staggered starts and a different starting line.
