(Headline) Pine River, Chile form firemen's brotherhood

The Volunteer Firemen Brotherhood, planned and initiated last summer as a modest goodwill gesture between the firemen of Pine River and the picturesque firemen of Chile's port city district of San Antonio, has developed this winter to a full scale international organization with a steadily widening base of interest and activity.

The final four of 22 brass memorial plates for area deceased veterans have been distributed, according to Jack Schmidt of Pequot Lakes. Schmidt was contacted by family and friends of the four individuals after a story was recently printed in the Lake Country Echo and Pine River Journal on March 3.
