(Headline) Mayor John Rohr ill in hospital following heart attack

Automobiles driven by Sue Sherwood, of Pine River, and Gary Johnson, of Backus, were involved in a minor collision on Tuesday evening about 6 p.m. at the corner of the Clark Amy residence, south of the Lutheran church.

A company is criticizing the Pine River Area Sanitary District for choosing a more expensive bid for equipment on the $4 million treatment plant project. The sewer district defends its decision by saying cheaper isn't always better.

Pine River police officer Shawn Birr received the Lou Jeska Steward Award from Law Enforcement Labor Services on Saturday, June 9.
