The Farm Supply, in Pine River, is featuring a free pancake day Saturday, Dec. 17, and John Wilhoit, proprietor, extends an invitation to everyone to stop in on that date.
Mr. and Mrs. Marlon Shepard, Lyle Kruckow and Clifton King were riding out to their fish houses about 7:50 p.m. when the ice beneath their car started to crack. Mr. Shepard immediately turned the car and headed for the shore, getting within about 40 yards of it when the car settled through the ice.

The Pine River Girl Scouts will go Christmas caroling at the Good Samaritan Home on Monday, Dec. 21, at 1:30 p.m.
Four juveniles of the Pine River community spent a night in the Cass County Jail at Walker following their apprehension Sunday night while attempting to siphon gas from the tank of a school bus.
