60 years ago, Aug. 3, 1962

Soon to open in Pine River is a new greenhouse on Highway 371, now in the process of being built by the new owner of the former Corella Kline property. A new cement block building is now being erected on that site, next to the house, and will be ready for business with Frank C. Nye of Jackson, Minn., as the owner.

The Pine River Fire Department made a rush call to the Dave Dempsie farm about 3 p.m. yesterday, Thursday afternoon, where a wagon load of hay had caught on fire.

50 years ago, Aug. 3, 1972
