As the weather starts to get cold, the Knights of Columbus in Pequot Lakes will heat up their community with free winter coat distributions.

Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids distributions will be held:

  • From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, at the Cole Memorial Building in Pequot Lakes.
  • From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, at the Pine River American Legion.

Today, 18% of American children and 14% of Canadian children live in poverty. As a result, many families cannot afford to provide even the basic necessities of a warm winter coat. Putting their faith into action, the Knights of Columbus councils have handed out more than 500,000 coats to children throughout the United States and Canada through the Coats for Kids program.

Coats are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis and range from 5 year sizes up to medium sizes for both boys and girls.
