The Nisswa Fire Department BBQ competition returns Saturday, May 22, along with the annual Kids Touch a Truck event at the fire hall.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., kids can see and interact with Nisswa fire trucks as well as vehicles from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, North Memorial Ambulance, Crow Wing County Sheriff and the city of Nisswa plow truck and police cars.
There will be a live kitchen fire demonstration and hot dogs served by the Nisswa Lions Club.
At 3:30 p.m., the second annual Nisswa Fire Department BBQ contest will feature competitors who turn in ribs to be judged. The top three chosen in blind judging will take home money and trophies.
Freewill donations will be accepted to eat ribs starting at 3:45 p.m. There will also be a People's Choice award.

Proceeds will go to the Nisswa Fire Department. This is an alcohol-free event. Social distancing and masks are encouraged.
