Nisswa student raises funds for Outreach Program

On Wednesday, July 8, 9-year-old Connor Hoff held a lemonade stand in downtown Nisswa to support The Outreach Program of Brainerd Lakes. Hoff lives in Nisswa and will be in Fourth grade this fall at St. Francis.

Connor partnered with Ganley's Restaurant,who supplied him with the lemonade ingredients. In the end, he raised $1,195 at the stand. There was a company match from CTC taking place at that time so it doubled his efforts to $2,390 - the equivalent of 7,966 meals that can be packed at Outreach.

The Outreach Program of Brainerd Lakes is a humanitarian food aid organization located in Nisswa. They package different different meals that go to local area food shelves, community meal programs, schools, etc.

“As of August 21, 2020 - we have packaged over 738,000 meals this year,” program executive director Shawn Hansen said. “Every dollar makes such a significant impact to our program. We are thankful for Connor choosing our charity and for raising money to feed families throughout the Brainerd Lakes area.”
