40 years ago, Sept. 16, 1982

Police Chief Don Snyder asked the Pequot Lakes City Council to consider establishing a curfew for children 16 and younger.

Pete Souba and Brian Olson were winners in the first annual Jack Sickels Memorial Shoot at the Lakeshore Road and Gun Club. Souba hit 97 of 100 targets for the Class A title, while Olson hit 95 of 100 for the Class B title.
