Nancy Johnson was the big winner at the annual Go Pine River banquet on Monday, Oct. 7, at Bites Grill and Bar.

The banquet is an annual wrap-up event that offers the Pine River Chamber of Commerce the opportunity to update those assembled on the economic and business developments throughout the community. It is also a fundraiser that supports the Pine River Information Center building, which is 20 years old this year.

In addition to Johnson, there were two $500 winners, Jerry Anderson and Pete Mohs, publisher representing the PineandLakes Echo Journal. Johnson was absent from the event, but received the check at home the same evening.

Travis Grimler began work at the Echo Journal Jan. 2 of 2013 while the publication was still split in two as the Pine River Journal and Lake Country Echo. He is a full time reporter/photographer/videographer for the paper and operates primarily out of the northern stretch of the coverage area (Hackensack to Jenkins).
