The Pine River American Legion Post 613 and Heritage Group North in Pine River will cooperate in the dedication of a historic 45-star flag at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 4, which is 125 years after the creation and initial dedication of the nation's 45-star flag.

The event will take place at the historic Pine River Depot.

In 1895, Utah became the 45th state in the union and the Pine River Depot was built. A year later the nation's flag was updated to include 45 stars and was officially adopted on July 4.

The flag has been preserved on a white linen background inside of a glass-lidded wooden frame for display. The Legion post donated funds for the glass. The flag will be available for display at the Depot.
