Haunted Halloween happenings in the northern Brainerd lakes area

Halloween season has arrived with a variety of area events taking place:

Oct. 28-31

  • The Haunted Bungalows will feature fully decorated grounds at Bobbertown Bungalows on Rasmussen Road in Pequot Lakes from 7-9 p.m. Thursday-Sunday, Oct. 28-31.

Cost is $2 per person, or $5 for families of three or more.
Knock on each bungalow door for a trick or treat.

Oct. 29-30

The Nisswa American Legion will host a Dungeon of Doom haunted house from 7-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct 29 and 30, for ages 14 and older. Cost is $5.

Oct. 30

  • Community Action of Pequot Lakes and city businesses will host its annual Halloween trick or treat event from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 30, at participating downtown Pequot Lakes merchants.

Participating businesses will have a candy corn sign in their window or on their door.
Miss Pequot Lakes royalty will host a bonfire at Trailside Park with s’mores and juice. The Pequot Lakes PTA will pass out candy.

  • The Backus American Legion will host its annual kids Halloween party from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at the Legion.

  • Grace United Methodist Church in Pequot Lakes will host a drive-thru trunk or treat event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30. View decorated trunks while driving through the parking lot. Bags of treats will be handed out to each child in the car.

  • The Nisswa Fire Department’s 23rd annual Haunted Barn and Hay Rides event will take place with a not-so-scary option from 5-7 p.m. and a scary option from 7-9 p.m. at 8089 Gardenview Road, Nisswa.

There will also be a bonfire, games and concessions.
Free will donations will go to benefit the Nisswa Fire Department.

Oct. 31

  • The Nisswa American Legion Auxiliary and Post will host a Children’s Halloween Party for ages 10 and younger from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, in the lower level of the parking lot.

There will be treats, hot dogs and prizes.

  • Lutheran Church of the Cross in Nisswa will host a trunk or treat event from 3-4:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, in the front parking lot.

This is an outside-only and an allergy-free event.
All are welcome to host a trunk and dress in costume.

  • Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Pequot Lakes will host a trunk or treat event from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct 31, or until the candy is gone.
