Great River Strings concert to feature dinner, dance

The Great River Strings Orchestra will present a gala fundraiser Saturday, Oct. 27, at the C-I Pub's Pine Room in Ironton. Social hour will be at 5 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m.

The Great River Strings Orchestra will present a gala fundraiser Saturday, Oct. 27, at the C-I Pub's Pine Room in Ironton. Social hour will be at 5 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m.

Starting with "Diamonds Are Forever," the orchestra will play both classical and contemporary music from James Bond films of the last 50 years, concluding with a mystery diamond drawing at the end of the program. Tickets for the mystery diamond drawing will be available at the door before the concert.

Following the orchestra program, the audience will be encouraged to hit the dance floor to the music of the local duo Common Men. Guests are encouraged to dress up.

Tickets are $35 per person through Oct. 20 and $40 per person after Oct. 20. Tickets may be ordered at the C-I Pub in Ironton, The Beanery in Aitkin or through any orchestra member. Or call executive director Mary Aulie at 218-839-1085 or Lynn Foote at 218-678-3034.
