Freedom Days Parade canceled; businesses still encouraged to celebrate

The Nisswa Freedom Days event will look different this year with large, official gatherings suspended until fall.

The Nisswa Chamber of Commerce board of directors and chamber president have discussed special events over the last 12 weeks, researched other areas and consulted with local leaders before deciding not to hold the Freedom Days parade this year.

Instead, chamber members are encouraged to host “independent” Freedom Days activities and shopping opportunities for the Fourth of July weekend. The chamber invites businesses to send information about what they are doing and the chamber will help promote it.

Businesses may complete a street use request form provided by the city to adapt during the 2020 summer season. Interested parties are encouraged to reach out to the Nisswa Chamber at 218-963-2620 or info@nisswa.com with questions.
