The American Association of University Women will meet online via Zoom at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20. The program will be “Addressing the Needs of the Homeless Population in Brainerd Lakes.”

Roughly four years ago the Princeton New Pathways Program left Brainerd due to financial hardship. Historically, New Pathways, with the help of local churches and Lutheran Social Services, provided parents and children a place to stay and nutritious meals while they looked for housing and in some cases jobs.

Following the New Pathways closure, local area churches and service organizations formed the Brainerd Area Coalition on Homelessness.

Joyce Curran, of the Brainerd Salvation Army, will speak about how the Salvation Army is striving to help those who find themselves homeless in the community and address plans and preparations for the future.
