Mounted Eagles Therapeutic Horsemanship will host its 17th annual Walk N Roll, So They Can Ride event Saturday, Sept. 7, in Pequot Lakes, in conjunction with its Run for the Horseshoes event and an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast.
The Walk N Roll event will start (9:10 a.m.) and end at the Trailside Center at Pequot Lakes Baptist Church. Walkers, bikers, strollers and wheelchair users are required to collect a minimum pledge of $25 for participation. Awards for the largest team and largest number of pledges will be given.
The 5K Run for the Horseshoes will start at 9 a.m. on the same course. Awards of gold, silver and bronze horseshoes will be given to the top three in each age category. Registration for the 5K is $25. Registration is available on line at www.mountedeagles.org. Same-day registration for the event will begin at 8 a.m.
The pancake breakfast will be served from 9 a.m. to noon at the Trailside Center. Cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children.
All proceeds will go directly to Mounted Eagles for Riderships (scholarships for participants) and horse care. Mounted Eagles provides therapeutic horsemanship and equine related activities to people with physical, mental, social and emotional challenges throughout the Brainerd lakes area.
