Deep Portage Learning Center in Hackensack offers hiking trails, an interpretive learning center and weekday programs throughout the summer that are open to families and individuals.

All programs begin at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. and run about two hours. All equipment and instructions are provided. Participation fee is $7 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under, seniors and Deep Portage members.

The schedule is as follows:

• Observation tower hike: June 27; July 3, 12, 25, 31; Aug. 8, 16.

• Renewable energy tour: June 26, July 18, Aug. 14.

• Family archery: June 28, Aug. 2 and 15.

• Family fishing: July 5 and 26.

• Bog hike: July 10 and 19, Aug. 1.

• Bird ID hike: July 11.

• Family canoeing: July 17, Aug. 9.

• Tree and shrub ID: July 24, Aug. 7.
