Community Easter egg hunts on tap Saturday

Area communities will host annual Easter egg hunts for children Saturday, March 31.

Area communities will host annual Easter egg hunts for children Saturday, March 31. Following is a list of times and locations.

• Pequot Lakes: A community Easter egg hunt for children up to age 12 featuring 4,000 packed eggs will be from 10-11 a.m. at the Trailside Center at Pequot Lakes Baptist Church. Doors will open at 9:15 a.m. Register by 9:45 a.m. for prizes.

• Pine River-Backus: The Pine River-Backus Kids' Easter Egg Hunt for children ages 12 and under will be at 10 a.m. at Forbes Park along Highway 84 in Pine River. Kids will be separated into age categories: 0-3, 4-7 and 9-12.

The event is sponsored each year by Pine River and Backus area churches and area businesses.

• Nisswa: The annual Easter egg hunt for children ages 11 and under will be at 10 a.m. at the Nisswa American Legion. Eggs will be hidden on the Legion grounds, including two special eggs that will be worth prizes.

• Crosslake: The Crosslake Ideal Lions will host an Easter egg hunt for children ages 10 and under at 10 a.m. at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Recreation Area in Crosslake.

All kids will get an Easter goodie bag from the Easter Bunny.

In case of rain or snow, the Easter Bunny will be at Whitefish Lodge & Suites.

• Emily: The Lakers Lions of Emily, Outing and Fifty Lakes will host an Easter egg hunt for children ages 2-10 at 10 a.m. at Emily City Hall. Bring baskets or bags to collect eggs, and visit with Mrs. Rabbit and her company while Mr. Rabbit is gone egg hunting.

• Backus: The annual Backus American Legion Auxiliary kids Easter party for children ages 12 and under will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and will include an Easter egg hunt and other events, including lunch.

• Lake Shore: The Lake Shore Police Department will host its annual Easter egg hunt for children up to age 10 at 1 p.m. at Fritz Loven Park.
