Jessie and Richard Eide, owners of Moonlite Bay Family Restaurant and Bar in Crosslake, promote and sponsor community events to raise money for various organizations, including the cardboard boat races in August.

Some proceeds from this event go to the Whitefish Chain Yacht Club, supporting its mission of “safety on the water." The WCYC offers youth boating and swimming lessons free of charge to residents and visitors to the Whitefish Chain each summer.

“Jessie and Rich are anchors in our community," Bonnie Coffey, WCYC commodore, said in a news release. “The restaurant is well known and is a visual landmark and an important presence on the chain. With this donation, we can continue to provide the swimming and boating lessons for youth and ensure that more youth will understand how to have fun swimming and boating on the chain.”
