Driver discount course offered virtually

The Minnesota Highway Safety Center will offer a 55+ Driver Discount courses via distance learning programs.

A four-hour refresher course will take place from 4:30 p.m to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, and again from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15.

An eight-hour course for first-timers will take place from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 19 and 20.

Courses are available online at www.mnsafetycenter.org.

This class will save participants up to 10 percent on their auto insurance. Completion of an eight-hour course qualifies participants for the discount. To maintain the discount, they must complete a four-hour refresher every three years.

A Minnesota Highway Safety & Research Center certified instructor will update participants on defensive driving tips, changes in laws, vehicle technology and traffic safety.
