Two area Christmas for Kids organizations are working together this holiday season.

  • Christmas for Kids Inc. serves the Nisswa, Pequot Lakes, Breezy Point, Lake Shore and Merrifield areas.
  • Christmas for Kids Crosslake Inc. serves the Crosslake, Ideal Corners and Fifty Lakes area.

In addition, Pine River has a Christmas for Kids program as well.
Christmas for Kids is a local community, nonprofit organization that brings Christmas gifts to less fortunate kids in the community. The goal is to reach all of the families in need and make their Christmas a happy one.

Christmas for Kids volunteers shop for each child individually from the information given in the applications they receive. Last year, Christmas for Kids served 208 children between the Nisswa and Crosslake areas. (Nisswa served 133 in 2020 and Crosslake served 75.)

Christmas for Kids is looking for both monetary and gift donations for the upcoming season. Christmas for Kids would not be possible without the donations, volunteers and support from all the businesses and people in area communities.

Christmas For Kids Crosslake Inc. applications are available at Crosslake Food Shelf, Crosslake Chamber of Commerce and Maucieri's. They are due back at P.O. Box 5, Crosslake, MN 56442 by Nov. 20.

Donation boxes will be available at many locations, including Maucieri's, First National Bank Crosslake and Riverwood Bank Crosslake.

From 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at Maucieri's there will be a silent and then live auction to raise funds for Christmas for Kids. Those making donations of new, unwrapped toys or cash can qualify for a free drink during the event.
