On Wednesday, Oct. 14, eight Rotarians from the Central Lakes Rotary Club met at The Outreach Program of Brainerd Lakes in Nisswa to assist in packing meals.
More than 9,000 meals were packed. The club also presented a donation check for $521.
More than 80% of all foods packaged at the Nisswa facility are domestic meals and stay typically within a 100-mile radius of the Brainerd lakes area. The Outreach Program is still involved with international meal packaging (about 20%) and ship to countries as needs arise.
In 2019, international shipments included Haiti, Tanzania, Venezuela and the Bahamas.
Central Lakes Rotarians meet weekly at 7:15 a.m. Tuesdays, mostly by Zoom. Call 218-568-8761 for details.
