At the 11th annual Harvest Dinner held Aug. 21 at Greg Booth and Vickie Kettlewell’s Sunup Ranch in Brainerd, Cass County 4-H youth accepted a $964 donation from the Cass County Farm Bureau and MN Cattleman's Association on behalf of the Cass County 4-H Federation.
The donated funds were raised at the organizations’ joint brisket dinner, which took place at the Cass County Fair in June. Inspired by the efforts of Barb Frederick and Leo and Sue Elyea, longtime supporters of Cass County State Fair-bound youth, this donation will help kick start a 4-H Federation-based scholarship to support Cass County 4-H youth attending Minnesota 4-H state events, including the State Fair, State Dog Show and State Horse Show.
