Members of the Heritage Assembly of God Church in Brainerd visited the Northern Minnesota Railroad Heritage Association model train museum/model train club in Crosslake on Saturday, June 5.
Thirteen of the Heritage Classic group enjoyed seeing the model train layouts and the model trains running on the O scale, HO scale and G scale displays.
They liked the clouds, thunder and lightning, the ski slope, outdoor movie and other scenery on the HO display. A locomotive on the O scale display was puffing out smoke as it made its way around the complex track system built by NMRHA members.
The G scale display is located on the lower level of the museum. That display features a mountain and mine encircled with a track/trestle system, a refinery, a farm, several towns, a swimming hole and many other scenes.
NMRHA members continually add to the displays and make them even more interesting. The museum is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays and 3-6 p.m. Wednesdays through Labor Day.
