Area law enforcement hosting events Aug. 3 in area communities

National Night Out and Night to Unite events comingle residents and law enforcement


Tuesday, Aug. 3, is National Night Out in several area communities.

Crosslake Police and Fire departments are opening up their events from 5-8 p.m. The police and fire stations will be open to families for tours of both of the new facilities as well as a meet and greet with officers and firefighters.

Breezy Point will host Night to Unite at 6 p.m. at Breezy Point City Hall. Night to Unite is a yearly event sponsored by the Breezy Point Police Department that is designed to celebrate and strengthen neighborhood and community partnerships. It is also sponsored by the Minnesota Crime Prevention Association and AAA.

Plans for the event include emergency vehicles on display from emergency medical services, fire, boat and water, Department of Natural Resources, police and more.

Pequot Lakes police will be the hosts at the 5-8 p.m. National Night Out event at Trailside Park in Pequot Lakes.


The Pequot Lakes event will feature free hot dogs, chips and pop, a bouncy house, face painting, live music by Bruce and Tiki D, a mini doughnut truck and the SKOL food truck. The Life Link III Helicopter will also be present along with emergency vehicles and a magician.
