The Minnesota Highway Safety Center will be offering 55-plus driver discount courses in December.
The two-day, eight-hour “First Time” course will take place on Thursday and Friday, Dec. 12-13, from noon to 4 p.m. at Pequot Lakes Baptist Church. A four-hour refresher course is set for Monday, Dec. 16, also from noon to 4 p.m., at Pine River State Bank.
The courses are also available online at www.mnsafetycenter.org.
This class can save individuals up to 10% on auto insurance. Completion of an eight-hour course qualifies attendees for the discount. To maintain the discount, the refresher course must be completed every three years.
A Minnesota Highway Safety & Research Center-certified instructor will provide updates on defensive-driving tips, changes in laws, vehicle technology and traffic safety.
