Ye Old Pickle Factory in Nisswa will host a benefit for Neal R. Buchite Sr., who was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, from 3-8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23.
The benefit will serve pulled pork or sloppy joe sandwiches with baked beans and chips at $8 a plate. Coffee will be provided and beverages can be purchased at the bar. There will be door prizes, a silent auction, drawings, craft and bake sale and an auction for two wooden rocking horses that Buchite made.
Buchite was diagnosed with stage 4 adenocarcinoma lung cancer, which has metastasized to his bones following a routine checkup that revealed a spot on his lung.
Buchite was born in Crosby and raised in Fifty Lakes. He has been living in Nisswa for more than 10 years. The flyer for the benefit reads: “He is a devoted husband and a loving father of nine children, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. At the young age (of) 72 Neal is determined to fight this horrible disease and be around for many years to enjoy life with his family.”
Donations may be sent to BlackRidgeBANK, P.O. Box 500, Nisswa, MN 56468. Make checks payable to Neal Buchite Benefit Fund.
