Tickets are on sale for "Summer Solstice at St. Mathias," an annual fundraising event the Lakes Area Music Festival will stage Friday, June 28, at the Farm at St. Mathias.
Proceeds from the event will support the year-round youth education programs of the Lakes Area Music Festival.
Attendees will see the longest sunset of the year outdoors while having a gourmet dinner, entertainment by opera superstars and auctions, raffles and opportunities to donate.
Entertainment will be provided by internationally performing opera singers returning to the Lakes Area Music Festival: soprano Karen Barraza, tenor Mackenzie Whitney and festival director and baritone John Taylor Ward.
Making her LAMF debut will be mezzo-soprano Kara Morgan. The quartet will perform popular arias and ensembles from operas by Mozart, Bizet, Puccini, Verdi, as well as a sample from Offenbach's hilarious operetta La belle Hélène, to be featured at this year's August festival.
The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with a cocktail hour, followed by dinner and music beginning at 7 p.m. A silent auction featuring opportunities to socialize with professional musicians from the festival roster will be open throughout the evening.
Tickets are $85 for individual, general admission tickets or $600 for a reserved table of eight. Visit www.lakesareamusic.org/events/summer-solstice.
