Several area establishments temporarily closed after an employee tested positive for COVID-19. They include:
- The Pickle Factory in Nisswa: The Pickle Factory did reopen Wednesday, Aug. 5, after temporarily closing. An earlier Facebook post said, "In response to an employee testing positive we'll be shutting down until test results are back. We appreciate your concerns and will post updates here on our page. Any questions call Terry 218-839-1579. IMPORTANT UPDATE: The person who tested positive has been in quarantine since Tuesday, July 28th.
- Harpo's in Merrifield: Harpo's announced in a Facebook post the last week in July that it was temporarily closing following Minnesota Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control guidelines after an employee tested positive for COVID-19. The company took the time during that closure to get all employees tested and to deep clean. A post shortly thereafter announced that MDH determined through an interview with the employee in question that they may have contracted the illness after their last shift at the establishment and therefore did not expose anyone there. Harpo's chose to remain closed over the weekend to continue cleaning.
- The Woods in Merrifield: Also the last week in July, The Woods announced via Facebook that it would be temporarily closing due to a positive COVID-19 test of someone associated with the property. They did not say who the person was, but did say that the person is not an employee. They decided to still close out of an abundance of caution.
- Valeri Ann's Family Foods in Ossippee: The owner announced Tuesday, Aug. 4, that the business is temporarily closed because she and her husband tested positive for COVID-19. She said the business will follow recommendations and guidelines for quarantine and testing of staff and will return when it is safe for them and their customers.
