Paper Storm, a Baxter-based paper shredding company, received the industry's highest certification for its new facility west of Baxter, and will now start destroying computer hard drives as well.

Paper Storm's new facility, located in the Sylvan Commercial Park off State Highway 210 between Baxter and Pillager, received the AAA Certification from the National Association of Information Destruction (NAID). The certification, for the facility's walk-up shredding service, is a rigorous review of the company's staff, procedures, policies and equipment to ensure that the company is operating under the highest levels of security and soundness.

Paper Storm was also certified for its new computer hard drive destruction service. New equipment now allows the company to physically destroy hard drives. The service does not involve wiping or erasing hard drives.

The walk-up service is ideal for individuals, businesses or organizations that have relatively small amounts of sensitive documents to shred. It features a commercial shredder that dices up the paper into confetti-sized pieces. The cost is based on weight, and customers are invited to watch as the paper is shredded.

The walk-up service has limited hours of operation: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, or by appointment. Those hours will be expanded this fall. The most current hours of operation are posted on the company's website: www.PaperStorm.net .

Paper Storm's primary service continues to be its mobile shredding service, which was recently re-certified by NAID. The company's truck has an industrial-sized shredder on board that shreds paper at the customer's location.
