Michael DeGroot of Otsego, who has more than 25 years of experience in facilities management and operations in the public and private sectors, recently joined the staff of Cuyuna Regional Medical Center as environmental services manager.
DeGroot has worked for the University of California Medical Campus; University of Wisconsin; cities of Benicia, San Carlos and Oakland, Calif.; Collier International; Ecolab Corporation; Summit Orthopedic Care Centers; Volunteers of America; Associate Banks; and Best Buy. In these positions, he has developed and managed multi-million dollar operations and capital improvement budgets, supervised staff, established cost-effective and efficient operational programs, and instituted safety and regulatory compliance programs.
DeGroot holds a bachelor's degree in administration and management from the University of California, Davis. He also studied liberal arts at Chabot College in Hayward, Calif.
