The Jack Pine Center in Pequot Lakes will be home to yet another fine eatery when Sarah's Kitchen opens its doors.
Sarah Jungels has been working to get all the licenses and approvals she needs to be open as early as Oct. 16. Her waiting customers can then come in for breakfast, lunch and ice cream.
"There's nowhere to have breakfast right now," Jungels said. "At least not real close in Pequot. Lots of coffee but not much for breakfast breakfast."

Jungels hopes to recapture the popularity of the Hungry Loon, which was well-known for its sandwiches and soups. The location also has a three-season screened in sitting area shaded by leafy plants that was popular under past owners.
"It was popular," Jungels said. "People really liked it."
Jungels has some business ownership experience as she is half of the team behind the Red Ruby Art Studio in Pequot Lakes, but restaurants are in her blood.
"My grandma had a restaurant," Jungels said. "So it was always something that I kind of thought I would maybe partake in in my lifetime."
Jungels has had some experience in the field, working as a dishwasher when she was younger and cooking in commercial kitchens and nursing homes as an adult. This will be a mix of new and familiar. She also has management experience at a mental health clinic as well as experience in accounting, all of which will come in handy.
Jungels thinks her breakfasts will be a big hit.
"(I'm) concentrating on breakfast a little bit heavier than anything because I feel like that's going to be really popular," she said. "We're going to do a scrambler platter, waffle platter and other breakfast stuff."
Once breakfast is done, the kitchen will have lunch with items like a chicken salad with apples and almonds, house soups and salads. To top that off, Jungels is contracting with Kemps to offer hand dipped ice cream and an old-fashioned malt shop experience.
For those who are in a hurry, the kitchen's ready-to-go items might be the key.
"People can come in if they're on lunch break and just grab and go as well," Jungels said.
For now, Jungels has four employees helping to get the business off the ground. Once it's up and running, she anticipates four more positions, especially in the summer months.
Sarah's Kitchen is located in the Jack Pine Center in Pequot Lakes in the former home of the Hungry Loon and more recently the Sweet Life Bakery. The bakery's new location is on First Street in Pequot Lakes, next to First National Bank.
