Area resorts win awards
Area resorts took home awards from "Minnesota Meetings + Events Magazine" on April 6. The annual awards ceremony was held at the Solar Arts Building in Minneapolis.
Madden's on Gull Lake received awards for "Best Renovation" and "Best Team-Building Activity/Facilitator/Organizer."
"Last year we invested more than $13 million back into the property due to storm damages, so we are continuing to update the resort to ensure we're providing the best guest accommodations, meeting/event space and more," said Abbey Pieper, chief sales and marketing officer of Madden's. "Our resort has been a gathering place for all types of organizations and groups since its inception, and we work to continuously provide meaningful amenities and offerings to our corporate guests."
Madden's on Gull Lake was runner up for "Best Resort with Meeting/Event."
Grand View Lodge won "Best Resort with Meetings/Event Space" and "Best Hotel with Meeting/Event Space (less than 300 guest rooms)."
"Our team is truly deserving of these awards," said Cindy Baysinger, director of sales for Grand View Lodge. "We have multiple guests and groups who come back year after year, and this award shows that we offer the best space, lodging and catering options."
Grand View Lodge was runner-up for "Best Golf Venue."
Breezy Point Resort was voted "Best Hotel with Meeting/Event Space (more than 300 guest rooms)." The resort was runner-up for "Best Resort with Meeting/Event Space" and "Best Golf Venue." The Breezy Bell was runner-up for "Best Boats/Cruises/Charters."
Frank Soukup, director of marketing of Grand View Lodge, said in a news release: "This year showcases another ceremony where the Brainerd lakes area is becoming the destination of choice in the state. Out of all the awards, five local businesses were nominated, and three walked away with the titles."
Cragun's Resort on Gull Lake was runner-up for "Best Resort with Meeting/Event Space (less than 300 guest rooms)."
Explore Brainerd Lakes was runner-up for "Best Convention and Visitors Bureau" (more than 80,000 population.
Brainerd Floral was runner-up for "Best Florist."
Grand Casino Mille Lacs was runner-up for "Best Casino."
All awards are decided by readers' choice for the Minnesota Meetings + Events Magazine Best of the Industry Awards winners and are highlighted in the publication's spring issue.
