Denton L. Newman Jr

Multi-Media Editor

I've worked at the Brainerd Dispatch with various duties since Dec. 7, 1983. Starting off as an Ad Designer and currently Website Admin / Editor. The Dispatch has been an interesting and challenging place to work these 30+ years. I was here and worked on the first page when the website first went live on April 26, 1986. Now I take care of both BrainerdDispatch.com and the Echo Journal website; PineandLakes.com. I consider myself very fortunate to have witnessed and participated in the evolution of this industry - from it's analog beginnings - to it's digital future. I'm also blessed to have made many friends, both co-workers and customers along the way.

In my time off I enjoy dry and streamer fly fishing for several varieties of fish, mainly trout and panfish, in Minnesota and NE Wisconsin and find it interesting to repair and collect vintage 1920's battery radio sets.
