The 100-foot-tall fire tower in Pequot Lakes was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2017 and has been on the National Historic Lookout Register since 1993. The tower is on a 40-acre parcel of land, which was also included in the October purchase of the tower for a dollar by Crow Wing County from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
