PR-B Pride. The Pine River-Backus School District has always been intentional about the pride we take in our school climate and culture. The current strategic plan calls it “PR-B: The Place We Want To Be!” and the recently developed strategic plan reflects PR-B pride in its priorities designed to create a positive, enriching and engaging atmosphere. More often than not, students and alumni from schools across the country remember their education and their schools fondly — a special feeling for a special time in their lives.
The winter sports season has wound down at Pine River-Backus High School. The boys’ basketball season ended with a loss to Browerville. The girls’ basketball team lost in the second round of playoffs to Verndale. The highlight of the winter sports season came when the Road Crew wrestlers competed in their first-ever team state championship. Four buses full of Road Crew wrestling fans made their way to the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul to cheer on the team.
