I've been in the Brainerd Lakes Area for the last 6 years, currently in Baxter with my wife and two little girls. We really enjoy all the activities and places to see in the Lakes area and particularly enjoy going to the beach and walking out at the Arboretum.
I grew up in western MN and went to school at the University of MN, Crookston.

Hey there, Tech Savvy fans! Well, another year past and another turkey bit the dust. I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and were able to spend time with your family. This week we’ll take a short look into the remainder of the year and some things that we can expect, and my opinion on some of the things to keep your eyes open for as you wrap up (ha ha) your holiday shopping.
Does this sound familiar? You’re going hunting. You strap on 20 pounds of gear, grab your rifle and proceed to slog through two miles of brush, mud and rough terrain. By the time you reach your stand you’re exhausted and it takes just about all you have to settle in.
Hey there, Tech Savvy fans! This week I get to geek out a bit and share a review on three great phones. Whoa, whoa, whoa ... three phones? Isn’t that a little excessive? Normally yes, but thanks to my friends at Verizon Wireless, I was able to look at a family of new phones from the Motorola DROID family — the MAXX, the Ultra and the Mini.
Hey there, Tech Savvy fans! This week the new school year started, we have a first-grader in our house now and I’m sure many of you out there have young ones of your own heading back to class. Something that has really amazed me since our oldest started school is the amount of technology that is integrated into our education system now and I thought this might be a good time to chat a little about some of the ways we are seeing technology used in the classroom and how we can supplement that learning at home.
Hey there, Tech Savvy fans! This week I wanted to share my experience with the Blackberry Z10, the all-touch offering on the new BB10 OS. Although Blackberry just released the Q10 and has slated more offerings, I still believe this model is relevant in the BB world. My friends at Verizon Wireless were kind enough to lend me a Z10 and power it up on their 4G LTE. You may recall a while back I wrote some initial thoughts on BB, their new OS, their future and this may be a good time to revisit that too. But let’s start with the device itself.
One of the most common questions I get is two-fold. Should I upgrade? And if I do, what should I get? While there is really no simple answer, I’d like to try and address that.
Hey there, Tech Savvy fans! Well, this first week back from vacation has been interesting, I think I’m most grateful that I was cautious enough this year to not get terribly sunburned, so at least it’s not torture to wear a shirt and tie.
Hey there, Tech Savvy fans! So, this week I’m really excited. I’ll be on vacation, so we’re keeping things short and sweet this week and next.
Hey there, Tech Savvy fans! This week I wanted to briefly share with you something that I had touched on before but have recently started using more — cloud printing.
Hey there, Tech Savvy fans! I hope you all had a great Fourth of July. The parades were a lot of fun. If you were at the Nisswa, Pequot Lakes or Brainerd parade, I’d love to hear what you thought of our float this year.
