DULUTH — After seven hours and three rounds of voting, the Minnesota Republican Party endorsed Jeff Johnson as its candidate for governor Saturday, June 2, at the state convention in Duluth.
DULUTH — Three weeks before the Minnesota GOP State Convention, former Gov. Tim Pawlenty announced he would not be attending or seeking the endorsement from the Republican party. Instead, he was going to force a primary. This left many Republicans with mixed feelings about the former governor during the convention June 1-2 in Duluth.
DULUTH — Make Minnesota Red — that was the theme of this weekend's Minnesota GOP State Convention in Duluth. "Everyone keeps saying that there is a blue wave coming across the country this year and that Minnesota will stay blue, but they couldn't be more wrong because there is a red tsunami coming for Minnesota and a tsunami is bigger than a wave," Minnesota GOP chairwoman Jennifer Carnahan told the convention crowd.

Authorities shot and killed a black bear near Isabella on Tuesday afternoon after the bear apparently injured two people in two different incidents earlier in the day. The incidents happened near McDougal Lake off State Highway 1. It’s not clear why the bear was out of hibernation and aggressive.
